There Is Something Delectable About Cupcakes
Aug 25th, 2009 by Clare
I visited a cake shop in KL when I was there a couple of months back. *roll eyes* A cake shop? In KL? Don’t we have cake shops in Kuching already? BUT! Hear me out…Not just any cake shop!
It is a very classy cake shop that I had come across online because the chef owns a blog showing her cakes designs and from virtual cake shop, she moved to a physical cake shop. This is the photo of the shop that I stole *blush blush* from the website because I did not bring my camera when visiting the shop.

A classy shop called DELECTABLE located in a classy shopping complex, The Gardens Mall
The girl who manned the shop was really friendly
Because we were the first customers of the day, we were given small pieces of vanilla and ginger-flavoured cakes to sample. It was not bad! Then we decided to buy something from the shop since we had come a long way
What a nice packaging!
We bought 3 cupcakes to go and they were packed in a fancy box in the picture above. I would like to believe that a lot of thoughts have been given to the packaging of cupcakes. Inside the box…
There are three holes to hold the cupcakes in place so that when you walk and swing the box, the cupcakes won’t knock against each other and get distorted.
Ribbon Cupcake
This is vanilla flavoured which to me, is very nice! It is not too sweet nor too dry. I’ve eaten vanilla-flavoured cakes which were too sweet that I had to stay away from taking anything with sugar for the whole month! But this…is just perfect!
Too nice to be eaten
Butterfly Cupcake
This one, on the other hand, is chocolate flavoured. This too is done to perfection. It was nice! I need not elaborate on this because I love chocolate and I do not want to be biased in reviewing different flavours of cupcakes. Hehe!
Last but not least, ladies and gentlemen, meet Lulu the lamb!
“Hi! I’m cute. Please don’t eat me…”
This is ginger-flavoured. When people heard the word ginger, they tend to go all psychological while showing it through grimacing and wincing so much so that when these sour grapes do that, I’d smack the juices out of their brain. LOL! Have you heard of gingerbread? Well, the cupcake does not taste like gingerbread though. Just want to give you an example of something else (not entirely) made of ginger. This ginger-flavoured cupcake is nice! There is a tinge of ginger taste but not to the extent of covering your taste buds.
If you think these cupcakes are too pretty to be eaten, wait till you see the cakes - birthday cakes, wedding cakes, etc. Go to her blog at the link provided at the beginning of the post and drool to your heart’s content. ![]()

My sis and I have been following Su’s blog since her uni days, and we both “followed” her to the states, then back again to KL, and I was so excited to see her set up shop. When I was last in KL (in April I think), the renovations to the shop was on-going.

the cupcake looks more like a collectible than foods. looks so nice and unique! It is an nice piece of art work rather than cupcakes only.
