Crash! Boom! Bang!
Aug 13th, 2009 by Clare
I was having a drink with Chipmunk and his friend (who is neither Simon nor Theodore) at an Indian coffeeshop at 3rd Mile last night after a game of badminton when a loud SCREECH!-CRASH!-SCREECH!-CRASH! broke the silence of the night. Everyone was startled and as if on cue, we turned to the direction of the noise, which was from the flyover - the tunnel from Timberland to Batu Kawa. A few fellas from the coffeeshop went over to have a look. We were about 100-200 metres away only.
Aiya, being the busybody that we are, we paid for the drinks and went as well lah!
Oh wow! The whole bumper of the Honda Accord came off!
The accident was between a Honda Accord and a Perodua Kancil (circled). Judging from the condition of the car and fresh skid marks on the road, I believe the Honda Accord was heading towards Batu Kawa while the Kancil was incoming from the opposite direction.
For some reasons, the Honda Accord lost control and rammed across the road divider, collided with the incoming Kancil before heading for the wall, dragged along the curb and spun to the following position while the Kancil trying to avoid it got hit and spun 180 degrees as well.
The bonnet of the Perodua Kancil was wrecked beyond recognition. I believe no one was injured in this accident.
In fact, the Honda Accord was in worse shape than the Perodua Kancil. Well, it’s proven true the saying: “The fastest, strongest and most powerful car in the world is the Kancil.” Now who says Milo tin is useless… (pardon my sarcasm, I can’t help it
)
Anyway, now only I know that Kuching people are so kaypoh (busybody). When passing by the same area later, we did not use the tunnel because the accident already occupied the whole road and therefore we had to use the roundabout above. There was a massive jam at the roundabout!
Kuchingites just simply parked their car at the roundabout and got down to look at the accident below (the inner lane of the roundabout suddenly converted into parking space). I am pretty sure most of them are punters who wanted to get the registration numbers of both cars for their 4D this weekend
Yes, like the typical Chinese, I did take down the number of both cars for 4D/Toto this weekend ![]()

I tumpang RM1.00 each number… Pay you if got strike! Hahahahahaha!
Unfortunately, none came out. Not even the time of accident…
So what was the numbers?
What time was it?
9733 & 9818 and the time was Hr 2215. Good luck!
Crash boom bang. That area really prone to accident. I play at Stapok and head back to Tabuan that time also saw another self accident Wira i think hitting the tunnel wall. Result = Front of Wira smashed and tunnel wall scratched.
That was what I was told too. That tunnel is like a dark spot or something.
*ouch* Can feel the pain of that honda owner @.@
