We took a road trip to Sibu from Kuching during the Gawai holidays. About 225km from Kuching, there was a long queue of vehicles along the highway. We had to slow down to almost a halt. From afar, we saw a crowd of vehicles and people by the roadside. My first thought was: “Accident!”
True enough, there was an accident
There was an ambulance nearby too. The guy on the left side of the road (near the red Kenari) was directing the traffic.
People were crowding around the unfortunate Kancil to offer help.
The best shot I got was this one:
There was a Toyota Hilux on the opposite side of the road with the mirror position of the Kancil but not as bad. I suspected a head-on collision between the Perodua Kancil and the Toyota Hilux.
Later that night when we were in Sibu, an SMS from STP informing us that the accident we saw above killed Mr. Lau Kiu Poh, a teacher from Sacred Heart Secondary School, Sibu who was in charged of the school website, the kid in coma while the wife is okay. It was such a sad situation. I heard the teacher was very young. May he rest in peace. Amen.
I am going to talk about the road and car condition on the way to Sibu from Kuching in another post. In the mean time, don’t drive like idiots/maniacs we encounter everyday on the road!

37 years old only, a really good man and a dedicated teacher. Went to the funeral - the principal delivered the eulogy and he cried, and everybody cried… Really tragic! I don’t know the details of the accident but one thing’s for sure, from my own experiences, I have this thing against those Hilux kind of vehicles…AND the people driving them!
That’s why a lot of insurance companies are not willing to insure those Hilux kind of vehicles because they are more prone to get involve in an accident. Even if some of them do insure, I am sure the premium would be steep. Wait let me check. Either that or, the premium would be cheap as these cars are not very expensive. Hahaha! Don’t mind me, I’m hungry so cincai lai eh. But the first part is true. Hehehehe!!!
Could not disagree with STP. Read this one -

Hi there. It’s my first time reading this blog when STP posted the link about the accident on Facebook. I feel very sad about his demise. May God bless him. Amen.
