You know when lawyers go to court they have to wear this white curly wig like in the dramas/movies?
Guess who introduced them? The same people who introduced the tie - French! The wigs, a French fashion, was introduced to the English society by Charles II around 1660. The English legal profession initially disapproved of the wigs, but by 1680s, judges and lawyers were sporting the faux coifs. By mid-18th century, they had become legal custom.
During George III’s reign, wigs fell out of fashion. By the end of 18th century, only lawyers, coachmen and bishops wore them.
Some of the places where wigs are still worn by the legal profession are the Commonwealth Caribbean, Malawi, Seychelles, Botswana, Australia, Gambia and Mauritius.

I wonder what Kpenyu will look like when he puts on his… Susan Boyle? Hahahahahaha!!!
I really cannot imagine! Hahahahahhahaa!!!
Personally I think this wig thingy looks kind of cool and fashionable. Hahaha NOT. Hey don’t mess around with the wig otherwise later get sued.
You won’t recognise me stp…and that’s for sure and exactly WHY the wigs were introduced…to disguise the men/women on the bench so the accused nor the relatives can identify who sent the accused to the gallows.
Haha, fully agree with Kpenyu. Dont say lawyers, I do have friends who like to wear wigs to change identity! So do some “akua”
‘akua’…? Saw that man who sings dirty hokkien songs on utube…definitely will not recognise him without the wig..hahahaha
