You Got Wear Suspenders Or Not?
Mar 19th, 2009 by Clare
Suspenders? You mean underwear ar? Or that elastic straps to hold up your pants? Aiya, both also can lah!

One of my favourite local writers, Lydia Teh, has released another book! *sing and dance around* I don’t normally support local writers but there are a couple of good ones that had captured my heart. Lydia Teh is one of them! I have bought and read her Life Is Like That: Scenes From Malaysian Life and Honk! If You’re Malaysian. (Another one would be Yvonne Lee. I have her The Sky Is Crazy: Tales From A Trolley Dolly and the latest book, Vanity Drive)
I just finished reading Lydia Teh’s latest book entitled “Do You Wear Suspenders? The Wordy Tales of Eh Poh Nim” last night.
My verdict?
A very enjoyable and informative book. There are a lot of idioms, phrases, vocabularies, similes, etc to be learned from this book. This is what makes learning English FUN! Eh, Lydia, if you are reading this, how come you are not an English teacher or lecturer? Anyway, I love this book. I want to read it the second time. Hahahaha!
Oh, and Lydia and her crew has done a skit to promote the book. You can view her bookertisement here:
What do you think? Funny eh? Well, I bought the book from Popular Bookstore and as I am a member, I bought it at a discounted price
I don’t normally buy books which are not worth the read
PS: Looking forward to tomorrow ‘coz it’s Friday! ![]()

I tot Malaysians always ask whether one wears “katak khor” (seluar katak)? Hahahahahaha!!!
I thought Sibu only. Seluar katak. Hahahahha!!! I wonder why…
where seluar katak?
then it starts to rain
we like em hang loose, so boxers are better .. and easy also
Easy to do what? Mind to elaborate?
Clare, thanks for the plug. Appreciate it very much and good luck. Haha, I’m not an English lecturer cos I don’t have Masters ma. Send my regards to your mum.
Thanks for dropping by, Lydia!
But you teach English through your book better than my English lecturer in university.
