The Sarawak Club Golf Resort

The Sarawak Club was established in 1876 and is reputedly one of the oldest private membership clubs in the whole of Malaysia. It was set up to cater for the entertainment and recreational needs of the officers of the white Rajahs that ruled the state from 1841 to 1941. [The Sarawak Club - http://www.thesarawakclub.com ]
I am sure most people know about the Sarawak Club city branch near St. Joseph Cathedral. The Hornbill Restaurant of the club is well-known for its Buttered Prawn and I heard that the Vietnamese Prawn is delicious too! I want to try it out some time *hint hint to you-know-who-you-are*
Well, I had a chance to visit the Sarawak Club’s newly opened Resort Branch some 15 minutes away from the city branch, before Christmas.
The Sarawak Club Golf Resort
It sits proudly on the land next to UNIMAS medical faculty. We heard that some of the food there is nice so we went there to try them out for ourselves. The club-house F&B is one of a kind, which I find quite unique.
The F&B facility is located along the corridor facing the magnificent view of the 18 hole championship golf course
The Club boasts of an Olympic-sized swimming pool, spa, library and a gymnasium apart from the buggy golf course.
The cafe/restaurant is quite huge. With an open-air concept, the ambience is perfect for relaxing, as the place is quiet and you can actually feel the gentle breeze brushes against your cheek. Well, maybe it was raining that time and hence the cool breeze
That’s the menu
The F&B is managed by The Terrace. Now that name sounds very familiar, but I cannot remember where have I heard it before.
The unique design of Christmas tree made out of some bottles and candles was standing right next to the cashier and to the right of the Christmas tree (if you are looking at the tree like in the photo) there is a pub/bar for patrons to chill!
It was near lunch time, I ordered a plate of
Mee mamak
It was served in a really huge plate. The portion was slightly big for me. Presentation-wise, the mee mamak managed to deceive me with its initial attraction. But taste-wise, it was just like anyother Malay-style mee goreng you can get in town. This one cost about RM6 if my memory serves me correctly. Quite reasonable for a club-house F&B though.
My chipmunk ordered the people-said-it-is-so-nice Kuey Tiaw Radna (RM8). It is basically kuey tiaw fried to utmost crispiness on the outside, served in Cantonese-style gravy. It was very very nice indeed! I’ve tried radna-style noodles when I was still studying in Kedah but nothing beats this! Presentation-wise, the dish lived up to its initial attraction, if not more!
I’m drooling as I’m typing this!
Sarawak Club Golf Resort’s Kuey Tiaw Radna, anyone? *hand up*

hey the wine holder looks very unique…
where can buy hah???
That one for decoration only. I don’t know where they bought it.
RM8 here can buy yummy Foochow fried noodles feed whole family or one plate with 2 udang galah cut into halves!
