Buffet Dinner After Mass
Sep 27th, 2008 by Clare
Sidenote: I went to Ruby Restaurant for dinner again just now and have posted about it in my food blog. Go read and drool!![]()
So 7 days after my dad passed away, we had a home mass presided by Father Paul at my residence. More than 80 people turned up. One of them was none other than our ever famous Suituapui, who coincidentally was a classmate of my uncle (Sibu is so small!). After the mass, everyone was treated with buffet dinner which we catered from the Sibu Hospital canteen.
Now stop giving me that look, the food is not that bad. In fact, it is delicious! Suituapui can vouch for this! Muahahaha!
We had fried bee hoon (vermicelli)
It was licked clean before I even had the chance to taste it. But I managed a few miserable strings of it left after I scrapped the buffet container.
We also had chicken curry with rice. I think you all know how rice looks like, right? This curry was so delicious that it was also licked clean. Some of them took it with the bread provided as well. Yummy!
Mixed vegetables. I guess you can roughly make out what they dumped into this dish anyway.
Another green dish. Kailan. For some reasons unknown to me, this kailan dish tasted awfully similar to the mixed vegetable dish. I was wondering why don’t they just mix the two. They were not that bad though.
We had sweet and sour fish. It tastes different from the sweet and sour fish we normally have elsewhere.
We had fruits - watermelon and pineapple, for dessert. I didn’t get to taste this because it was finished by the time I get to dessert. Was I eating THAT slowly or people are eating so damn fast? Nah, I guess it was because I let everyone has their food before grabbing my own plate.
There were also some bread provided. From the left, garlic cheese bread, red bean paste bun and the cheese bread stick. The garlic cheese bread was so nice that a greedy uncle (not my relative) hogged the bread dish and finished the whole thing and a lot of our guests didn’t manage to taste it! *takes deep breath and counts to 10* I didn’t manage to taste it as well. But the garlic cheese bread looks very similar to those sold at Wheat Bakery (behind UOB at bus terminal area). Hoi Uncle F, if you like it so much go to that bakery and buy them yourself and eat till you puke lar, don’t be so selfish can?!! TNM!!!
There were also Swiss rolls provided. I didn’t get to taste this as well because I am not a big fan of cakes and the likes.
My aunt baked some cakes for the buffet dinner as well
Sunkist Chiffon Cake. It’s spongy and doesn’t stick to your teeth. I like but can’t take this everyday. Muak lah!
Beehive cake.
PS: I knew it was about 80 people because I someone counted the shoes. LOL! ![]()
