8-Course Dinner On Saturday Night
Sep 21st, 2008 by Clare
I had Guinness Stout during dinner
I’m not an alcoholic and having this for dinner is not a good idea. Yea, I bluffed, most of you must have guessed it, this Guinness Stout look alike drink is called Arthur Wee Kopi O - I actually ordered it like that! The taukayneo (lady boss) laughed and nodded her head when I said the name of the drink. Oh, and she served the drink to where I was seated herself! *damn kembang*
Only Ruby serves drink named after Suituapui. I dined and blogged about this restaurant a couple of times already and I walked away satisfied, each time! You can find the posts here and here. I ordered about the same food from my previous visits but I don’t think you are going to click on the links anyway (because I normally don’t click also. Heheh!), so I’m going to post the pictures (not the same ones but same food lar) here. Suituapui went to Ruby’s the night before I went, click here to see what he ordered! Different from what I ordered
We had fried mee sua - like how Suituapui put it, the “unrivalled”. I agree with him because I have yet to eat any fried mee sua better than this place!
Sea cucumber soup
The specialty of the house, Pandan Chicken. I’ve blogged about this, so no need for me to elaborate.
Sweet and sour fish fillet
Butter Cheese Kailan - I have a comment this time. I love this dish when I had it during my previous visits but this time, the kailan they use was a bit too old and hence it was quite hard to chew.
The must-have, the incomparable Butter Scotch Prawns! Suituapui, who went the night before, told me that they had this with prawn balls instead, that is without the shell, and it was very nice. I didn’t say that when I called to place my order but I told the taukayneo I didn’t want shell on my prawns only when I reached the restaurant for dinner. Therefore, I don’t think this is the same butter scotch prawn balls that Suituapui had.
Mayonnaise Lamb - Ruby does it best! ‘nuf said!
Bittergourd with salted egg - So this time I finally tasted it for myself. Suituapui complained that nobody wanted this every time we went there even though he claimed that it was nice! Okay, so it was really nice. Not bitter like its name indicated. You win, Arthur! ![]()

Next time…I must charge diners especially bloggers who use my name at Ruby!!! Hahahahaha!!!!
You are fast! Only a few minutes I posted already commented
Must pakat with every shop that you recommended in your blog, for every customer that uses your name, you get 30% of the profit from that customer. But hor, I don’t think the owners will be honest lor…

Ur prawns had tails…not the same, and mine was deepfried first. I still think they shouldn’t have done that. I feel people deepfry things before cooking cos the things not so fresh, so I never like dishes where they do that! I’m biased, I guess.
No, not the kailan too old!!! You growing old liao so ur teeth not as strong as the last time we went together!!! Or maybe they see my face so “sui”, gave me the younger baby kai lan! Hahahahahahahahaha!!!!! Hey! Wait a minute! What did u order? I ordered BABY kailan! Maybe that was why!!!
Why wasn’t I invited?
Sulks…
I was free on Saturday night and you would have gotten me out of a lot of trouble. I passed out at a lounge and a friend drove my car back at 3 AM.

Let’s go to Ruby again during raya time. I am back in town. This time with hair. HAHAHHAA!
With hair, bongkersz? Where? Not like the hair on my babi hutan skin, l hope! Bwakakakakaka!
The food looks so good! They don’t appeared to be commercial dishes but similar to those hidden homecook food.
MMmmmm… I am going to bed now with a growling stomach! All because of you!
You’re welcome!
Yea, this place serves very nice homecock dishes.
