Mooncake Bazaar
Sep 5th, 2008 by Clare
Instead of Ramadhan bazaar that seem to emerge everywhere during this fasting time of the year, I went to the Mooncake Bazaar for a change.
As comparison to bazaar Ramadhan, the Mooncake bazaar does not pollute the environment - no oily smoke from BBQ/satay stall, no wet puddles, no rubbish thrown all over the place, no sweaty and stinky people pushing and shoving, etc. The mooncake bazaar is not as big as the Ramadhan bazaar with not as many stalls available.
There are no variety of food being sold here. What do you expect to see at the Mooncake bazaar apart from…mooncakes?
I walked around, trying to find one of my favourite Tai Tong mooncake but couldn’t find it. I love the Double Yolk Jade flavoured mooncake. Salted egg yolk in the mooncake is to-die-for. Like I’ve mentioned before, sweet and salty blend well together, surprisingly, but of course with proper food. With the double salted egg yolk in one mooncake, expect to pay at least RM10.50 per mooncake and your cholesterol level sky-rocketing off your chart!
I don’t care about either anyway.
One particular stall caught my attention. They sell an assortment of lantern, from the traditional paper lantern where you have to manually put a candle at the bottom to plastic lantern with bulb for lighting. The latter defies the purpose of the lantern but for convenience sake and safety (of the kids) sake, they are practical. I got myself these!
Lantern on my head
Convenient? Very! Practical? You bet! It’s plastic and it doesn’t burn. You don’t have to torture your arm or fingers to hold the lantern. I am that lazy sometimes, shut up!
Have a nice weekend! ![]()

haha…
i never know these lanterns are exist
Oh, they do. They existed long ago.
wah.. like that called lantern ma? hmmmm…
Nowadays lantern got a lot of pattern wan…
i want that for halloween! i want you for halloween! ehehe nolah…the last bit joking. i want mooncake also. and i really hope the wax won’t drip from above your head. but imagine the two horns were spherical….lol! haih…pardon me for all the stupid jokes…
eh wait the joke above only applies if you stick candle in between the horns….you do stick the candle in between right?
Err…actually no. The horns will light up because there are bulbs in there. Battery operated wan. So I won’t be sticking candles in between
I don’t really like salted egg yolk in mooncakes. Prefer without the egg yolk. They just earn so much at RM10.50 per mooncake when it costs only RM2.50 to make, that’s about 300 % profit! Yeah, the lantern with the bulb is more practical but not as much fun as the traditional one.
AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HANTU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oi! Jangan lari!
itu lantern so evil….hahah.. anyway u back to kch?
yeah, and back again…
