Not A Fashionista
Sep 4th, 2008 by Clare
I don’t normally talk about fashion here not because I dress like an auntie or a teenager but simply because I wear what I like and what I am comfortable with. I don’t accessorized myself with exaggeration to make myself look like a Christmas tree and it is not even Halloween yet. I like to keep it simple and presentable. I’m used to shirt and jeans all these while and it’s about time to have a wardrobe makeover!
I am not into brands either unless there is a discount up to 70% or my eyes lie on something that I like from particular brand stores like G2000, Zara, MNG, Padini, Topshop, Voir, etc.
Top from (L-R): G2blu, PDI and MNG (all at 70% discount)
Being unemployed at the moment and living off my parents, I can’t afford to splurge on a 3-figure price tag for a top or dress as I want. Therefore, I have no choice but to be a cheapo when it comes to clothes. At the same time, I want to look good too.
Of late, there are a lot of online boutique mushrooming around the blogosphere, selling all sorts of clothes ranging from lingerie to bags. They are normally very affordable for people like me because the operators do not have to pay hefty rentals, utility bills, and a lot of other unnecessary overheads. Therefore, we as consumers get to enjoy quality goods at a very low price. Like the Chinese saying goes, “You get what you paid for.”
I’ve seen Irene Lim all over the place in the blogosphere now and I didn’t know that she owns an online boutique as well! If it is true that curiosity kills the cat, I’d be dead by now. But this cat (me) gets excited when she is curious!
And so I browsed through all the clothes in the boutique taking as much sweet time as possible (if this is a real boutique, Irene would have given me The Stare! LOL!)

I saw something that I like - a Dinner Wear! You can never go wrong with black or white! Unfortunately, white is not available but you can opt for the hot and spicy red! It’s only RM42! Here’s the best part: the necklace comes free with the dress as well! This dress would look good on me if I slimmed down to the figure of the mannequin. Time to hit the gym

You can wear this for a casual dinner or outing with your friends or to the office. At only RM32, you can match it with long jeans, denim skirt or slacks.

I wish I could pull this dress off nicely, but with my current shape with extra handles here and there, I have to go on a diet. I like the bronze one! RM45 is not too much to ask for. I’ve seen similar but different dress in Sungai Wang and it costs about RM70-80. I immediately put it back

This one is cute! Not the type of dress that I’d wear but I find it cute. RM35 for grab!
On second thought, I’d stick to slimming down to human figure instead of mannequin figure because if I am as skinny as the mannequin, I can’t menstruate and it is not a good idea, is it?
I think I like the cute dress in the last picture. Irene, Irene, where art thou? Oh, forgot to mention that Irene blogs in Mandarin, so if you can read, hop over but if you can’t read (like me) let’s go shopping! ![]()

Hi Clare, thanks a tonne for liking the dresses and for writing about my blog and online boutique. Do let me know if you would like to buy any of them.
Oh, you look really good in the PDI dress, very full. lol.
You’re welcome!
No problem at all. Very full…. *sweat*
You look great in the pictures… and the dresses on Irenelim Fashion look good. Do they have something for men?
Thanks! I have no idea. Have to ask Irene about it. Irene? If you read this, mind answering? Tengkiu!
Oh, thanks for your interest on the dresses. Unfortunately, we do not have any for men now. Maybe in the future. Do check back for more new dresses as we update very frequently.
