Wednesday Popiah

Sidenote: Happy Birthday, Anne Seri Juan!!!![]()
I wouldn’t be in Kuching until evening so Alvin tapao the famous Wednesday popiah from Jalan Rubber for me.
Our food critic, Master Suituapui never failed to mention the popiah here each time the word ‘popiah’ was mentioned. The one next to the Grand Continental Hotel is not bad as well but the one from this Handsome Cafe at Jalan Rubber is huge!
Stop imagining things!
After eating the popiah from Kuching, I will never touch the popiah in Sibu! I’m serious! It’s THAT nice! Suituapui can vouch for it
See how much ho liao they put in there?
Even my uncle who was a big fan of Sibu popiah doesn’t touch Sibu popiah anymore after eating the Kuching version.I personally do not like the popiah from West Malaysia. They put weird stuff (like beansprout) in their popiah which I think do not blend well at all.
Hungry yet?

anne’s birthday? today?
i love popiah… but the thing i hate is that my cloth will always stained after that….
You mean you forgot about her birthday?
Your photographic director/photographer has a wild imagination. hehe. err this was about food right?
That is really BIG!!! I am hungry now :S Anyway, the thing about west Malaysia is that people here tend to eat with lots of ingredient one, even home cook…
Tell me about it. I don’t really like it lor. Do you?
Awww Clare…. You still remember, huhu. Thank you, toh che, toh che, kam sia, hehe. I’m so thrilled =) Hehe, coming up next would be your birthday wor. We are Leo Babes… Woohooo… ROAR!!!!!!How old are we again? Haha, doesnt matter.
Anyway Clare, why are you tempting me with all those nice food… Huhu. I am so going to Kuching and try all those kacak food. I’ve never thought these food exist before, you see, I makan jer aper yang dihidang. Haha. This time I would be more cautious and try only da’ best seperti mana yang telah direkomen oleh Clare the sexy momma!!!
P/S: Sexy Momma = An individual who is smokin’ hot. Hehe, some slang I pick up from the Latino migrants here =p
seriously I can’t remember how popiah taste like anymore!
So kesian! Next time when you are in Malaysia, eat all you like lor. Or learn how to make one but I don’t know if the taste will come up the same though
Hey! I also put taugeh in my popiah…but it will spoil! So not a good idea if you don’t eat it right away……U back in Kuching again? So that is somebody’s size, eh???…Ummm…impressive! LOL!!!
I’m practically almost everywhere
Laparlar.. I’ve never been to Handsome Cafe.. Seldom go that area T__T
Hmm…try it! But its available on Wednesday only, and go early.
There’s a Kuching popiah at 3rd Mile that’s really good too! The char kueh tiaw over there is alright as well. I used to live in Chong Lin Park and then moved to KTS Park in 2 1/2 mile so it’s pretty near where I lived.
German one or African one ah? Hehehe.
Hahahahaha!!! Giant Chinese wan! Kakakaka!
[…] the photograph from this angle as they certainly conjure some unwarranted images in the head (e.g. Clare taking a big bite at her giant popiah)!!! Don’t let your imagination run wild now, ya! […]
No doubt Kuching’s popiah is the best. I am very tempted to try this version. Will need to ask you for the direction the next time I go home.
Yupe! No problem. Thanks for dropping by
I don’t like taugeh in my popiah too. Oh, you can open really wide. *runs…*
