What The Fish!
Jul 13th, 2008 by Clare
There is an extraordinary type of spa located in the Pavillion, KL catering to the need for foot reflexology in a different way.
Ever heard of fish spa?
After walking all day long in the shopping complex (what? It’s Mega Sale what!), our feet got tired and we decided to feed the fishes at Kenko. The procedure was pretty easy: pay, wash, feed and leave.
The paying part is basically the usual cash transaction done at the front desk. We opted for the cheapest one which was RM38 for 30 minutes. Then you’ll be given a tag for scanning before being led to wash your feet at a designated area.
Scrub, baby, scrub!
After washing off dirt and smell of your feet, you’ll be led to the feeding area.
Legs up! One! Two! Three!
Legs down!
Fish started coming to your feet. I felt so ticklish that I had to pull out my legs every 10 seconds. After I got used to the geli-fying feeling, I just let the fish do their job at nibbling on the dead skin on my feet.
More fish came to feast on my feet!
It was P-A-R-T-A-Y at my feet!
Still geli-fied by the fishes’ nibbling.
By the way, the species of fish used is the Garra Rufa aka Doctor Fish. I guess they are being called that due to their use in skin disease treatment. The fish only consume the affected and dead areas of the skin, leaving the healthy skin to grow.
See the difference?
Just pulling your leg, you cannot actually see the difference except for the wrinkly skin due to soaking your feet too long in the water. But I could feel (with your fingers lah) the sole of my feet softer and smoother without the rough dead skin.
I would love to go for the fish spa again, given the chance
Fish spa anyone?

Clare Camwhores.
I would love to go Kenko - if someone would bring me there when I go to KL I’m definitely going.
de fish spa is such a hit now, isnt it?
last time i did it in one of the island in langkawi..its a small lake i think.. pretty cool and free!
Not exactly a hit per se, but it is a fresh concept in Malaysia, I think.
how come your toe nails so cacat one?
Hehehe! Didn’t trim them for so long already
will try this first chanz i get
Yes you should. And I think you better dip your legs in the pond with bigger fish because your feet might need more nibbling
Will try when I am in KL soon!
Nice!
Blog about it ya!
Whole body in can or not arrrr??? It will be very nice for the fish to clean every part of my body!
Cannn! I think they have whole body fish spa somewhere but not Kenko. However, they will ask u to wear clothes because certain part of the body cannot be ’spa-ed’
Inside Pavilion or what? Interesting, would love to try, how much ar?
Inside pavillion
Oh, forgot the RM38 part
but consider ok lo… What’s the use? I rather foot massage
Foot massage will not get the dead skin off your feet. So feeding the fish once in a while is good for your health
