Of course I flaunt my equipment!
Sidenote: Guess who I bumped into at the police station yesterday afternoon, of all the places in Kuching? Kenny Sia.
I went to Damai Puri Resort & Spa last Saturday for a day trip apart from accompanying a friend from KL. I guess most of you have not heard of Damai Puri yet because it is new. Damai Puri is formerly known as Damai Lagoon. “Oh!” I can virtually hear you guys said. LOL!
I got pissed when we reached the entrance of the lobby. There was an idiot (presumably the jockey or something) there asking, “You got room here? Because there is no more extra room. Full already!” Idiot! We haven’t even reached the reception area to check-in, how the hell do you expect us to have a room before that? That’s the downside! Bad image.
Damai Puri Resort & Spa showcases 207 guestrooms
and suites
The Ocean Wing
Our friends booked a Deluxe Room
It has a balcony facing the South China Sea. Imagine staying here with your loved one watching the picturesque sunset arm in arm from the balcony. How romantic! Okay, let’s not get carried away with that
The room features a 32″ LCD TV with international channels, or so the website says, I only found local channels
Too much things to explore than to sit in the room to watch TV. Oh, and they also have high speed wireless internet access.
Shower cubicle with rain shower - see the upside down T thing hanging from the ceiling?
Enough of exploring the room. Let’s go out and play!
Damai Puri Resort & Spa also provides facilities such as restaurants and bars
This is the bar at the lobby
Restaurant
What is better than enjoying sumptuous meal by the seaside and being caressed by the sea breeze?
Swimming pools
Kids pool
Adult pool (view from the room)
With jacuzzi at one end
A stretch of golden beach
I think they also provide water activities because I saw people canoeing in the sea under the hot scorching sun.
Wallpaper-like scenery
Another wallpaper-like scenery to conclude this post.
My review is based on what I saw or feel. The place is still under construction, especially the Senja Spa Village. So, this review is not complete. For more information, you can click over to their website at www.damaipuriresort.com
I would love to stay here some day, after the place is fully opened. It is a quiet and romantic place to escape to with your love one.

OMG! It looks wonderful. All it needs now is an infinity pool and it’ll be complete. I wanna go!
Is this the old Damai Lagoon Resort? If it is, they’ve certainly done up the place nicely!!! Or is it the Holiday Inn Damai Resort…or a new one?….Hey!!! Why didn’t u take Kenny Sia’s photo and post them…without photoshop? Celebrity mah!!! LOL!!!
Would like to see more pictures taken by yr DSLR. Practise more ya.
Okay! Thanks for your advise
having mountain and beach, is very cool place for enjoy life
I agree!
Damai is certainly overrated. Well too expensive even compared with other more beautiful beach resorts such as Langkawi, KK and even Phuket. This is because the hotel line in Damai has been monopolized by who else but greedy Holiday Inn! I was there several times to witness big crowd in lobby waiting to check in. I heard the rooms were not ready and housekeeping staffs still worked their asses in the rooms. What a poor service from a 5-star hotel!
I like the last 5 pics !! Very nice
[…] the chance and time, I’d love to do it every week. Kem Permai, which is located right next to Damai Puri Resort & Spa, is the place to go if you want to be close to nature (not peeing in the sea, that is), i.e. hiking […]
