Dinner at Ruby’s
Jun 4th, 2008 by Clare
I went to Ruby’s (again!) for dinner on Monday. I called for reservation because according to the lady boss, it was going to be full at night. We ordered before hand so that we get to eat faster when we get there.
True enough, Ruby Restaurant was filled to the brim with customers during dinner time. Patrons came and go non-stop from the moment we arrived until after we left an hour and half later.
We had:
Char Mee Sua
This char mee sua is very tasty. The best I have eaten to date! The ones that I thought is good, is no longer good. Still, Ruby does it best!
We used to have the shark’s fin version in the past. But nowadays shark’s fin is no longer popular so they substitute it with sea cucumber. It taste the same anyway. And, of course, cheaper!
I have no idea what is this called. There are mushrooms, baby corn, some vegetables, whatnots. My mum ordered this.
Butter Cheese Baby Kailan (recycled photo from last visit. Hehe!)
Sick of vege yet? Of course we are not vegetarians but there are old people with us and they are health conscious. Anyway, then we had:
Sweet and sour fish fillet.
It was very nice! The fish is juicy and fresh. Yummy!
Pandan Chicken
This is the specialty of the house and it is indeed, very delicious. Deep fried pieces of chicken, presumably chicken thigh, wrapped with pandan leaves never taste so good! I didn’t have this during my last visit here. *stare accusingly at Suituapui* LOL!
Butter Scotch Prawns
This is a must have every time I come to Ruby’s. Even my health conscious grandmother who ate with us dared to try one prawn and claimed it to be delicious! 0.o!!!
Wash everything down with
STP’s Kopi O (I actually ordered it like that and the lady boss understood!)
My mum was beaming happily after paying the bill because it was so CHEAP! All in all there were 7 dishes for 7 people including bowls of rice and drinks for everyone, the damage were about RM130! So CHEAP mana mau cari lah wei!!!
Ruby’s anyone? *groan*

food looks awesomely tasty and the price is insanely cheap!!!
where to find in KL???
Sad to tell you that KL cannot find.
Walaueh… those prawns make me salivate.
Where’s this place? Kuching?
Sibu. Kuching where can eat so much and yet cost so little wan. Eh, I thought you are out of the country liao. LOL
In Sibu, adrain. If we talk about taste AND value for money, Kuching no place near it!! So looks like we’ve another die-hard Ruby addict now. Remember u heard it first from STP! LOL!
Wah! Don’t say me like that lar! LOL
Honestly, from the look, it doesn’t look so tasty lo
So many people love going Ruby ar?
Don’t judge a book by its cover!

What so long no update? This was posted yesterday only lah! If you everyday kam here as you claimed you’ll not make that remark liao wei!

Where’s the address of this ruby restaurant?
no one seems to know where it is
You know the mosque at the traffic light of Kampung Dato? Ruby Restaurant is located at the building behind the mosque, next to the Si Khiong company (Mercedes Benz). Everyone knows where is Ruby Restaurant, except for maybe some.
[…] tea (for three persons)! With that amount of money, we could have had a feast at Ruby! Agree, Clare? Or perhaps we could have gone for this […]
