Picture a group of 15-year-old girls chatting happily.
Location: A classroom, 1st from right of Block B to be specific, in SMK Saint Elizabeth, Sibu.
Time: One fine morning when the teacher forgot to didn’t dare to did not come in for the lesson.
The girls were very close to each other because most of them have been classmates for ages since primary school. When they chatted, the whole class of 30-something girls usually joined in. I was one of the talkative ones sitting near the window right in front of the teacher’s desk (how ironic!) who normally joined in whatever topic that were being talked about. They could be anything under and above the sun.

One day, our discussion went into the topic of holding a gathering every year which foresaw disappointment after we ventured into modern slavery (the term was not created yet back then) when each of us will be scattered all over the world. (See? We thought long-term ever since we were young) Everyone got excited then. Suggestions, disagreements and some agreements later, we fixed a date to meet up some time in the future.

Time: 12 noon
Place: KLIA
Around Christmas 2005
We agreed to meet at KLIA at 12 noon where we will proceed to KLCC in the evening to welcome the year 2020 by watching the fireworks display. No matter where you are or how busy you are, we made a pact to meet up in Malaysia, our home.

All of us will be about 35 years old then and we were expected to drag bring along husband (if married) and children (if any), hampalang also bring to our gathering. Well, unless you have emergencies like giving birth, you have no excuse not to attend. We made a pact, remember?
