Christmas Lunch
Dec 25th, 2007 by Clare
I was not sure if I could still cook after not touching pots and pans for a very long time. Well, I had decided to warm up my cooking skill a bit when I rummaged the refrigerator for leftovers. Look what I found
Some chicken leftover from the chicken pie two days ago, Nestle cream, some beef leftover from don’t-know-where, tomato puree, button mushrooms, some cheddar cheese, fresh milk, eggs, herbs, spaghetti, mushrooms, tomatoes, some fruits, etc. Nice! I was going to make spaghetti bolognese and carbonara!
This was not the first time I cook bolognese. So I just hantam anything that came to mind. And the result…
Yummy! The combination of freshly grated cheese and the tomatoes are heavenly!
Then after washing the mess that I made while cooking the bolognese, everything was set quickly for the second round! Carbonara sauce! This is the first time I cook carbonara. I was a bit scared that it would suck but ah, well, gotta try also. So without any recipe for reference, I hantam everything according to common sense and the end result is
Heavenly! I forgot to take another better picture because I was too hungry! The verdict? Successful!
I asked my mum not to kacau (disturb) me while my inspiration of cooking was still fresh in mind. Bwahaha! She cut some pineapples, apples, cucumbers and bean curds to make Malaysian salad: Rojak!
Sprinkle with a lot of groundnut powder (or whatever you call it) after mixing all the mentioned ingradients with rojak sauce (that I bought from Penang) and *ta da* Penang Rojak is on the table!
**The recipes for all the dishes above are in my food blog: The Glutton Queen.
PS: Gilbert (zouk), if you are reading this, you (your mom and your brother as well) are invited to my place for dinner tonight!
