Christmas Caroling
Dec 17th, 2007 by Clare
I joined a Christmas caroling at the Sibu General Hospital last night with a group from church. Basically we went from ward to ward singing carols, giving out gifts to sick children, regardless of race and religion.
Nurses and doctors all joined us singing the Christmas carols. This was taken at the maternity ward where they keep premature babies in the incubators. Oh, and we saw a pair of twin babies - a boy and a girl.
Nurses, including the non-Christians singing the Christmas carols alongside our Santa Clause.
Even the wards are nicely decorated with Christmas trees, lightings and presents to lift the mood of the wards, to feel the spirit and blessings of Christmas.
A pharmacist by day, a guitarist by night. This fine gentleman here, Eric, can sing and play the guitar well. We were singing outside an isolation room of a paediatric ward (see the girl on the right? She was isolated into the room)
Final stop of the hospital was the Operation Theater. We belted the loudest and the most powerful carols that could even wake the dead for the surgeons on duty. I imagined scenes from the Grey Anatomy - unconscious patient, stomach sliced open, masked and gloved surgeons, working with surgical knives, etc.
Tomorrow night will be the first session of Christmas caroling from house to house.

What a wonderful service you did to God!
It feels really good.
So nice can join the christmas carol.. Really great experiences to give the blessing to the patient..
Great experience indeed. It reminds us of how lucky and blessed we are to be able to walk around and not being sick and hospitalized
That Eric is so handsome.
Can ask him to give me free panadol or not?
