Pavilion KL
Nov 28th, 2007 by Clare
The newly opened shopping complex which is located at 168 Jalan Bukit Bintang stands majestic over 1.3 million square feet of space. Even the address ‘168′ has an auspicious connotation in Mandarin (pronounce as ‘yi lu fa’ means to prosper all the way). Pavilion KL has a lot to offer to the urban demand, be it fashion, food or leisure.
It was still under construction when I last saw it a few months ago. However, having the chance to visit KL again this time, I made a mental note to visit Pavilion to see for myself what is luxury all about (Hey, I am from the kampung living on tree tops never seen shopping complex before hor. So shut up!
)

The entrance of Pavilion KL
Visited the place on one Saturday. Bad timing. People mountain people sea but not too bad. Once you have entered the Pavilion from the main entrance, you will feel as if you are walking down the stairs in a palace in some fairy tales, say Enchanted(?) LOL!

The place is so new and clean that I could see my own reflection on the floor.

This fantastic view greeted me as soon as I stepped through the entrance. I am impressed with the design.

This is how the roof looks like from inside.
This is one of the places where brand names found their home. One of the places where I couldn’t afford most of the things in the building. One of the places where the salesgirls/guys will not give a shit in serving you IF you are wearing old shirt, short pants and bathroom slippers. To top that attire, they won’t even look at you if you are not an ang moh.
Familiar brand names could be found all over the place - Tangs, Bonita, Armani Exchange, Banana Republic, Bossini, Calvin Klein, Converse Original, DKNY, G2000, Gap, Guess, Esprit, Levi’s, Marc by Marc Jacobs, MCKY, Polo Ralph Lauren, Soda, Tommy Hilfiger, Threepointsix, Topshop & Topman, Zara, MNG Mango, Roxy, Camel Active,Crocodile, Philosophy, La Senza, Xixili, Burberry Prosum, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Rolex, Versace, Naf Naf, Salabianca, etc etc etc.
During my visit, there was car exhibition:

Can you guess the type of cars being displayed?

Not my dream car but this is also something that I cannot afford in this life time working as a modern slave.

Well, there was this most-talked about J. Co Donuts & Coffee located somewhere at the 1st level of the building. I went to have a look and true enough, the queue was longer than the Penang Bridge and the number of people queuing was more than the number of donuts I saw. There goes my plan to give J. Co’s donuts a try. Perhaps next time. Their rival (or the other way round) Big Apple Donuts & Coffee which was located at Level 6 of the building was quite empty.
There are quite a number of eateries in Pavilion - Yo! Sushi, Wong Kok Char Chan Teng, Tony Roma’s, TGI Friday’s, Michael Angelo’s, Pasta Mania, Spice of India, Laksa Shack, Madam Kwan’s, Chola Spice, Ichiban Boshi, Kung Jung, Nando’s, Pizza Hut, KFC, Carl’s Jr, Sakae Sushi, Carlos Mexican Bar & Grill, and a lot more. Some are yet to be opened.
There is a bakery called The Loaf on the right hand side of the main entrance and you can see it from the outside if you walk from Starhill. It belongs to Tun Dr. Mahathir. This is a branch from the Langkawi’s bakery. According to his daughter, Marina, the croissants are the best! I have yet to visit the bakery but people who has been there just love the place.
Have you visited Pavilion yet?

Do post up more pic pls! I am still living up in my rambutan tree! Have a nice day!
