Shoo, Fly, Don’t Bother Me!

Sidenote: Damn it! Kampua has already increased to RM2.20 effectively this month!
Musca domestica Linnaeus, or more commonly known as the housefly, locally known as ho sin/ pu ling is a nuisance to us and our humble home. They are small, they are black (no, I am not being racist here
), they are fast and they are dirty!

If you cook sambal belacan or something that smells nice (as in strong, pungent smell), they will come in groups to infest your food. Worse if your neighbour rears chicken behind their house. The chicken poop attracts swarms of houseflies, not only to the chicken house but also to your house! You have hard time swatting them because they are fast and furious, unlike the Australian houseflies (as claimed by Alvin) which will stay there and obediently dumbly being swat!
You cannot use Ridsect or Shieldtox because your food will be polluted with the pesticide. You do not want to have diarrhoea due to food poisoning, do you? Now, you tell me, how do you get rid of them flies without dirtying your food and you can have your meals in peace?
When I was back to Sibu recently, I was curious about the stack of 1 sen coins on my dining table. I thought those are change for paying bills or something. Only to be enlightened by my dad that the copper coins are used to, read this carefully, SCARE AWAY FLIES!!!
HUH? 0.o!!!
You heard me right! The 1 sen copper coins are used to scare away houseflies!
First of all you need a handful of 1 sen copper coins (must be copper). I am sure you can find a lot of them from change after paying bills, shopping, over-parking summons (haha!), etc. And then all you have to do is stack 4-5 coins and arrange them randomly around your dining table like this:
Of course you do this when you are about to have your meal. I was only illustrating how do you arrange your copper coins. You can keep the coins after your meals, you don’t have to display the coins all the time, hard for you to clean your table also.
This non-chemical pest control method is proven effective not only by both my parents but also by my uncle who introduced this method to us. He learnt about this particular method when attending a board of directors meeting cum high tea some time ago. They actually arranged the copper coins during the meeting cum high tea.
I have not done any research about the theory behind this (can anyone verify this?) but this method is truly economical and chemical-free. Try it and tell me the result. It works for me!
It must be stacked 4-5 coins for it to work. I heard that if you randomly arrange 1 coin only, the ho sin/pu ling aka houseflies will still come back and bug you.
Now you can have a peaceful meal!

Interesting idea. Will try it when i accumulate enough coins
Happy copper coin digging!
Tell me if it works ya!
damn! i gave all my copper coins away & they don’t use them anymore here!
Yeah, don’t know why people here still use 1 sen copper coin when places like Australia don’t use them anymore. I guess the system in Aussie cannot be used here, people will take advantage. Hehehe!!! Or you can try copper wire…?
Yes, it works.
That’s bcoz the flies will see the coins and think, “Ceh, these people no money wan, sure nothing to eat wan lah. Ciao lah, ciao lah”.
Also, if u put a 100 ringgit bills on ur table, the flies will come in buses! Kakakakakaka.
You very creative hoh

That was what I found when I googled about the topic as well
Have collected plenty of 1 sen coins. Look like it’s time to make use of it!
