First Ever Sibu Blogger Meet
Oct 16th, 2007 by Clare
People who has never seen each other, people who has never met, people who communicate with technology, people who finally met for the first time. It all happened here in Sibu a few hours ago. Place were decided, date were picked and bloggers were invited weeks before the event.
15th October 2007 marked the first ever Sibu blogger meet to crap over crab. Ah, you know the place! Cheap crab. Pig leg. Midin. New bus terminal. Those present were Bengbeng and son (Benghui), Monkey Wong who forgot to bring some banana making me feeling constipated now
, Jam who appeared to be so shy quiet and I haven’t really heard his voice, yours truly who talked crapped too much, two surprise guests - Alvin the techie guy from Kuching and Thomas of sibuteacher.com
I was craving for crab but was disappointed because the crab was taking the day off for holidays as well, so we ordered:
To Fu (literally speaking, what’s with guys and tofu?
)
Roasted Pork Leg - it didn’t taste as good as it looked. The quality of food here has seriously deteriorated ever since the beginning of the year.

Belacan Midin (picture stolen from mylongkang.com)
Lakkiang Char Mien - fried mee cooked in native way, in other words, it must be spicy and hence the chilli. Others might find it hot but it was just nice for me
There was another dish of Sea Cucumber Soup which nobody seemed to be fast enough to take the picture. By the time Bengbeng managed to get the right setting on his camera, the soup was already down our digestive systems. LOL!
Bloggers and food cannot exist in one sentence but nature has it that they must co-exist. You can spot a blogger in an eatery from miles away if he/she whips out his/her camera and started to snap away - on the food - once it has arrived. Oh, you forgot, that is how a blogger say the grace before meal.
To prove my theory, after our hearty dinner of all the above mentioned food, we proceed to our next location, you guessed it right - for more FOOD!
We went to the Pinnacle, next to the Farley Bakery for our next crapping session:
Banana Split was what I had since Monkey did not bring a bunch for us! *sulks*
Pinnacle Ice Cream was what Bengbeng enjoyed for desserts.
Our Q&A session at the Pinnacle was a meaningful one where all the farkers bloggers, minus Sibu Teacher, exchanged ideas and suggestions on farking blogging (what else do you think?). By then, Benghui has been so engrossed with Monkey and Jam that he was sticking to them like Super Glue cap Gajah.
This blogger meet is a really successful one because we met in a small group instead of a large gathering. In a small group, we get to know each other better and everybody gets to talk crap. Jam is still very quiet ler…next time must get him to sing liao! But I presume that there will be more bloggers activities/meetings/gatherings coming up very soon.

SO JELES!
gua jiak cho liao…
How come no photos of the bloggers… especially the famous Clare?
They were shy…But Bengbeng took my picture though…
