Scary landing, Raya visiting and bloggers’ micro meet
Oct 14th, 2007 by Clare
Never knew that getting on a plane was so much trouble until a few hours ago. I hand-carried four bags - laptop, food, small bag and Transformers - and was not allowed to board the plane. I asked the guy: “So what the hell do you want me to do with these? Throw them away?” Quite taken aback with my snappiness, he said “Maybe you can check them in.” Does this guy has common sense? I replied him, “These things cannot be checked-in. They will be lost or damaged! Who is going to pay for them if they are lost or damaged? You?” Come on lah, the flight is not that full and me carrying a few pieces of donuts does not make the plane too heavy for taking off, does it? Still he did not let me in. Fark lah! There went the last call for flight to Sibu. Thinking quickly, I shoved two boxes of donuts into my small bag praying they won’t be squashed. Only then the farking idiot let me past.
The delay made me the last few to board the plane. People were waiting and staring as I made my way to find a seat. Fortunately, there was a gay-looking cabin crew helping me to load my things into the baggage compartment. God bless him!
My stomach was drumming to the songs in my MP3 and the urge to eat kampua was getting stronger as the plane neared Sibu. As the plane was nearing the earth, I felt a sudden jerk to the left and right due to the heavy downpour at the time of landing. It landed with a BAM! and I thought the plane crashed (CHOI!), scare me only *wipes sweat*
No, I have not eaten kampua yet due to the heavy rain. Luckily my donuts were not distorted and they are now on the way down the digestive passage of my family members and myself. I had leftover HOON NGANG for dinner. Ahhh…it has been a long time since I tasted homecook hoon ngang! NICE!
Before I forget, now how come I did not see any band or limousine at the airport, welcoming me home? Got red carpet only - due to heavy rain, we used the skywalk-whatdoyoucallit and it was carpeted in red!
Alright, the band and limousine can be forgiven but where is the Monkey to throw banana at me, Inspector Jam to escort and guard me from prying hands of screaming fans, Bengbeng to be the chef of the night cooking kampua for me… *slaps self silly* Maybe I should stop dreaming already!
At day break, the second day of Raya, I will definitely go Raya-visiting with my old friend, future Dr. Chieng, to our dearest friend, Munira’s house. We never failed to visit her every year for Raya. I miss all the curry, masak hitam, rendang, etc at her place every first day of Raya but this year I missed the first day. Never mind. The much awaited Kek Lapis Sarawak are sitting in the jar, waiting for me already! (I called her just now, so I know lor!) Her initial reaction was: “What? You two only?” when I told her that I will visit her with (Dr.) Chieng. What to do? The rest are so darn kiamsiap busy!
The one thing I am so looking forward to is the coming Sibu bloggers’ micro meet this Monday. After discussions, we have come to a collective agreement to have crab for dinner so we can throw the shell at each other crap. This meeting is called micro because of the number of confirmed participants attending. We do not want to make it big so that we can know each other more personally. The respectable Bengbeng will be there for sure, the naughty Monkey Wong will definitely be there after I bribed him with bananas and he’ll bring an equally naughty friend, Jam to soal siasat every one, and of course yours truly, being the only girl present! So syok! Last but not least, we will have a special guest blogger from Kuching (not Kenny Sia, don’t worry!) so let us show our guest how friendly Sibu people (Bengbeng included) are, shall we? Anybody else want to join us? Those interested must identify themselves by sending a request e-mail to me. A reply will be sent as soon as possible after we (5 of us) have made a collective agreement. We do not allow party crasher(s)! Thank you very much!
Can’t wait to see you all! But a bit scared leh - Monkey will bully me, Jam will find me talking and tuapao-ing too much, Bengbeng will be disgusted that I eat too much and set bad example to Benghui (is he coming, Bengbeng?),… *slaps self*
ADDED: If not for Clement, I have completely forgotten about it. Thanks for reminding. There is this one blogger who disappeared into thin air from the blogosphere. A famous blogger, he is, by the name of PHB, more popular by his sixthseal dot com and freeelement dot com websites, both has been closed down due to reasons unknown. Mr. Poh (like how Clement put it) if you are reading this (I doubt), please do join us for the meet, drop me a message for the details. ![]()
