The Disadvantages of Procrastination
Sep 27th, 2007 by Clare
No update these few days. Have been caught up with a lot of almost-due assignments (really last minute one), as usual, being a procrastinator.
The downsides of procrastinating:
- Last minute rushing (like mad dog, man!)
- End up working all night (always the case
) - Missed deadlines (not likely to happen in my case
) - Lose marks (at least got marks mar)
- Not doing justice to yourself (I don’t feel like that wor
) - Mind just went blank (at the moment when you need it to function the most!)
But the one and only thing I love about procrastinating is the feeling that I need more adrenaline to get the work done which will only come when time is running out. I perform better under that condition.
I managed to finish an assignment everyday for the past three days. I started at around 9pm after dinner, bath and an episode of Friends (re-watch), put full concentration into the work and *tada* done in 3-4 hours.
Well, it does not give me a lot of trouble though since I am so used to procrastinate already. Maybe the time wasted but it was worth it. Only a few hours what. I bet a lot of you do procrastinate at some point of your life, don’t you? Come exam time, last minute studying is as common as spotting wild animals in the zoo.
But when brought to modern slavery life, procrastinating can be dangerous. I have no say here because I haven’t done that yet (not that I planned to but old habit dies hard
). Anyone (modern slaves) want to quote some examples?

dun rush on things.. or else it’ll suck real bad… i’m speaking from bad experience.. he he
But I can do better rushing. Obviously you cannot procrastinate liao lor…must manage time properly liao lor…
talking about procrastinating, ive just earned myself a doctorate in that. 4000 words of physics extended essay, 1500 words of world literature, 700 words of economics essay, statistics port folio, organic chemistry test..everything to be done by next week yet barely touch any.. i think suicide is my next option…!!! f*ck IB!!=.=’
Welcome to the club!
And I also have a thesis proposal to hand in by the end of the semester and I haven’t even thought of the title yet. Die liao lah…!
i dunno about others, but wat i’ve experience is that i can perfome better or maybe at the best level under pressure, which means that last minute job always give a better results.
agree with me???
I am like that
I hate to do last minutes job too. BUT sometimes really out of our controls. The job may delay because of your team mates too.. sigh…
That too. But in that case, it couldn’t be helped…
Can’t do that nowadays, getting old, too bad!
Since when you become lao ah pek?
Procrastinating…proof that you are still human..haha
No matter what work always expands to fill the time available…be happy
LOL!
Hebat… hebat…. =p
Terima kasih!
