I not stupid! You are!

*snicker*
Look at all the attention Kampua Talk got from all the hoo-haas of the ‘wrongly printed’ dress code in UUM. Friends came to me asking if it was me who wrote to the press because after I wrote posts on the issue, the nation read about it in the papers. No, I did nothing of such but ONE thing remains the fact:
YOU READ IT FIRST IN KAMPUA TALK!
(Now says who bloggers are liars???)
With all that attention I got, I felt pressured and thrilled at the same time. Pressured, because the fear of offending a certain people was unavoidable. Thrilled, because of the fame lah, of course! Now don’t tell me you bloggers who have blogivitis virus are not thrilled to get all the attention because of your certain post.
So my fear was confirmed! A few days later, a comment came to this post:
…I also think that it is not right for you to just lambast ‘baju kurung’ and making all that ridiculing statements associating it such negativity. Please, baju kurung leads to BO? Not unless you don’t practise proper hygiene, which maybe the case for certain segments of UUM’s students population. Baju kurung is a physical hazard to the wearer? One could just lift the skirt slightly and voila, you can stretch as wide as you want. Again, its the case of the wearers, not the attire itself, but to make all that slandering remarks, it’s just totally uncalled for…” -maverick-
Then yesterday, a trackback showed this, also on the baju kurung sentiments that I came up with, I quote:
It is such speaking-without-thinking comments that I find disturbing. It is disappointing too, coming from an intelligent young woman…”
Echoed by two comments that are, well, wince-inducing (?) *snicker*
I am not stupid, you know! Accusing me of making unresearched and slandering statements is baseless accussations! Of course I did my homework before coming up with such conclusions! Who do you think I am? Smart people like you who simply blurted unjust remarks or called names in the Parliament? *double snicker*
I guess only stupid and speaking-without-thinking people like me understand what I was saying in that post. Usually people never read in between the lines or try to understand and hence got offended. In the end, the author was at fault because you readers could not understand what she had written. Well, it is always easy to point accusing finger at other people except ourselves.
That is a kebaya
Scientifically Chemically speaking, baju kurung does, in a way, leads to body odor because of the material used to make the cloth. Not only baju kurung, for that matter. Cheongsam, baju Iban, sari, punjabi suit, etc, in a way lead to body odor as well. I picked baju kurung because we were forced to wear baju kurung then. Same risks apply to any clothes, for that matter.
Do you know why are pyjamas made of silk and satin, the material almost similar to baju kurung? No, not to turn your man on sexually. In fact, the materials used is to keep the body warm at night and at the same time allow the body to be as comfortable as possible in bed. That is if we live in a cool tropical place, say, in the forest or near to the beach because it is cold there. That is also the reason why pyjamas is meant to be worn during night time, not in the morning or under the hot scorching afternoon sun.
Back to the BO issue, usually BO is a very horrible as well as unfortunate for people who has it. At most point, many sought medical advice. Usually, doctors or medical officers will advice them on the food intake and of course, the TYPE OF CLOTHING MATERIAL to avoid! Hygiene is important when it comes to BO but some of those who have body odour don’t just have them out of the blue. It is not that they want to be smelly/stinky. They have no choice. Some of them are due to their genes, like how people are prone to get fat or obese.
But to be asked forced to wear baju kurung will exacerbate these people’s condition, more importantly their CONFIDENCE. Therefore, baju kurung (or any clothing, for that matter) is not a good asset for those who are prone to body odour.
At the end of the days, it is not a matter of skin colour when it comes to the type of attire we must wear. It is the comfortable-ness of the attire while receiving education and gaining knowledge. Who can study well wearing something uncomfortable? That is why we never forced people to wear cheongsam all the time. Attire of such material should be worn commensurate with appropriate occassions.

that is very extensive research you’ve done there… even to the satin part about pyjamas. but i have to say… to blame BO on baju kurung is a bit far fetched. i think there’s no need to list out a reason why baju kurung is not of preference. so long as you’re genuinely being forced to wear it… i think that’s bad enough.
You see, I never blame it on baju kurung…I picked the attire because we were forced to wear them. For the BO thingy, any attire is prone to BO or rather enhance it for certain people…same goes to cheongsam, no? And I have to explain myself long-winded for many people out there who do not understand what I was talking about and called me a racist…Too bad, some people don’t seem to have the intelligence to distinguish between racist remark and non-racist remark…sigh~
Some idiots even get offended when their mothers remind them to eat lunch! Brain-in-the-@ss is a new disease discovered in blogoshepre.
Yeah, they should think more with their ass, they’ll be smarter…I doubt they have brain you know…
I like the way you defend yourself! You have been tagged!
