Eight guys
Four girls
One van
One country
One mission
To visit the neighbouring country, Thailand!
The much awaited day finally arrived. The twelve of us woke up early and waited for our tour guide, a Thai girl studying here, to smuggle bring us across the border. We sardined into a Batmobile-styled van (like the third picture above) and off we went to Bukit Kayu Hitam which took about 15 minutes from UUM.
After getting my passport and their group passport stamped, we left our dear country. After we passed by the first town nearest to the border, Danok, our tour guide asked us to take a nap as the journey to our destination would take about 2.5 hours.
Our first stop in Hatyai was:
A kopitiam, having our first meal a.k.a. breakfast in a foreign land:
Chicken rice for 43 baht (expensive lah!)
Then we went to check in into a 2-star hotel before going out to town. The Batmobile dropped us in town and we moved about in a tuk tuk:
6 of us could squeezed into a tuk tuk without problem, that was only half the tuk tuk. I saw McDonald’s here selling pork burger for 29 baht! I was so full that I did not have the chance to try it. After walking around the shopping complex which I couldn’t remember the name, we requested to go for massage.
We were brought to a quite high class hotel called Sakura or something to lose our virginity have our first massage. Six of the guys opted for the oil massage which according to my masseur (in Hokkien): “They chose that because they can t’ng kao liao!” meaning they could have their massage naked (except for their underwear) with the oil massage. 2 of the senior guys and 2 of us girls opted for the traditional Thai massage for 24 baht for 2 hours. I was tortured bent in many angles unimaginable but I was so flexible that it helped me relaxed. Ahhh…!!!
After that we went to the market to do some shopping. Yes, shopping at these market streets is better than shopping complexes. We got to bargain though! A friend almost bought a beautifully carved knife for 500 baht but we told him that it is illegal to bring it over to Malaysia.
We had BBQ steamboat for dinner
BBQ-ed pork and seafood, dipped in the oh-so-heavenly delicious Thai sauce made us eat and refill our food non-stop that I think the owner had blacklisted us.
Damage done: 1119 baht - so damn cheap for the ever hungry us!
Burping all the way back to the hotel (supposedly), we were told that we were going to watch the famous Tiger Show. The guys were, of course, sexcited excited. A really innocent dumb girl in our group got all excited and kept talking non-stop, so damn annoying! LOL
Anyway, Tiger Show = Sex(y) Show where there were girls (read: hot and sexy) and a couple of guys demonstrated some kama sutra position while making love having sex. It started with a pole dance followed by strip dance and stunt show (read: S & M). The twelve of us squeezed into 2 couches right in front of the stage to get a better view. At the end of the show, there was a magic show:
Our friend, Chris, was the volunteer for the magic show. See the couch and poles on the far right of the picture? Those were used for the sex show earlier. Taking pictures was not allowed here but I managed to snap a picture and forgot to turn off the flash! How was the show? I’ll only tell you one thing: I will NOT watch the show again the next time I visit Thailand. Ah Kua (she-male) show, maybe. I’ll personally tell you why.
After the show, we headed back to the hotel and was told to get ready by 8.30pm local time. We showered and put on our best clubbing attire as WE ARE GOING CLUBBING!!!
We went there in a tuk tuk. 15 of us cramped into a tiny tuk tuk - 3 Thai girls in front with the driver, 10 seated at the back, and 2 standing at the back of the tuk tuk, clutching the sides each. People who saw us might think that we were from the circus.
The disco in Hatyai is way better than those in Penang (Chill Out, Mambo, etc) according to a friend. Penang’s like riot. I do not know about that because this is the FIRST time I go clubbing. I know, don’t look all surprised now! We smuggled a bottle of red wine we bought from Langkawi the week before into the disco. They checked our IC but I left mine at the hotel, dang! I got in ILLEGALLY! 0.o!!!
We partied till 2am. Dancing to Thai music sound weird because I couldn’t really get the tempo and the beat to dance to. It was tiring but FUN! A few minutes after arriving at our hotel, all was quiet. Lights were turned off. We slept soundly through the night.
